Understanding Mixed Sentence Structure

Mixed sentence structures are very common in writing. However these are easy to avoid and can easily be fixed. Here you don’t require to give any definition of an independent clause, a coordinating conjunction, or a gerund but your task is to write well without making blunders

So, for understanding it keep it in your mind that it occurs when the writer try to shift from one structure to another structure of sentence in the middle of his sentence. You need to have the knowledge of various types of clauses and conjunctions to be away from these errors or to correct them.

So, as we had discussed above the sentence structure disturbs in the middle. So, that case is with this sentence. The first part is alright, but second one is the sifting of sentence structure. So, how to correct it:

So, here the use of but is causing the mixed sentence structure error. So, re-write the correct one as:

Although I'm doing job, but I love to do sports

Or you could write:

I'm doing job, but I love to do sports.

So, as you see it is not very tricky to be rectified.

Catch and Fix Mixed Sentence Structure Errors

Proofreading the paper is too useful to catch and fix errors. But most commonly students don’t bother to do so and left their paper with lot of errors. And therefore lose their grades especially on test. So, let’s learn two thing, if you adopt them than you would get good score:

Read your finished essay aloud to yourself:

Proofreading your paper silently, especially on computer screen would left your paper with errors. It is because you would lose the focus on what you are reading. When you will here yourself it would be possible for you to catch the more possible errors.

However in case of exam center it would not be possible for you to read aloud. So in this case adopt next method.

Read your essay backward, one sentence at a time:

The other method is to read back through your essay silently from sentence to sentence.

In this way you would be able to focus on the sentence structure and be able to spot errors.

and
