It was 18 October of 1960 when Jean-Claude Camille François van Varenberg born. Jean-Claude van Damme is his professional name. He is an actor from Belgium. Martial arts action films are the cause of his fame.

Early life

Brussels, Belgium is the birthplace of Van Damme. He is the son of Eliana and Eugène van Varenberg. Martial arts began by him at the age of ten. He went to Shōtōkan karate school. He started the gym to improve his physique. He studied ballet for five years at age of 16.

Personal life

Van Damme wedded to four different women. His third wife was Gladys Portugues. They have two children: Kristopher and Bianca Brigitte. In February 1994, he married actress Darcy LaPier. They had a son named Nicholas. He had also an affair with his co-star Kylie Minogue during the filming of that movie in Thailand. Van Damme remarried Portugues in 1999.

Life Career

When Van Damme was 12, he joined the National Center of Karate. When he was 15, Van Damme,he started his competitive karate career in Belgium. In 1979, he made his filming debut from the series “Woman Between Wolf and Dog”.Van Damme's blockbuster film was Bloodsport (1988). Van Damme played the lead in Delta Force 2, American Ninja 3 or Cyborg. In 1992, Van Damme starred in the sci-fi action picture. Van Damme also roled in Nowhere To Run (1993). Van Damme's first box office bomb since he became a star was Double Team (1997).
