Practical Knowledge is Technical Education

Education mainly in practical subjects is called technical education. This kind of education gives us proficiency in practical skills. Technical education trains the people in different practical and useful skills such as carpentry, weaving, pottery, agriculture, industry, and similar other things.

Purpose of Education

The purpose of education is to train us for better living. In the earlier days, education was meant for the intellectual development of man and in some cases for spiritual cultivation. It made us fit for social life. With the passage of time, the world made tremendous progress in the field of science and technology. With this, the ways of living also changed. In this modern age, technical education has assumed great importance. Nowadays, education has become more job-orientated.

Educated manpower

To handle the machines properly, it is essential to get the manpower educated technically. Technical education trains the people as specialists. There are a large number of jobs which cannot be performed properly without technical knowledge.

In a developing country like Pakistan, the industrial revolution is possible only when the local people are enabled to get technical education. This is the age of industry. Industrial technology can be acquired from advanced countries. But equally important is to acquire technical knowledge from the West so that we may be able to produce everything in our country.

Fulfilling the Needs of Modern Education

Today general education is insufficient to meet the needs of modem age. Unemployment is gaining ground throughout the world. Countries are becoming industrial day by day. In this situation, skilled hands are much in need. The people, who will not improve themselves according to the needs of the present time, will lag behind the world.

Meeting the International Market Competition

Generally, in our country, most of the skilled persons are serving without any education and proper technical training. Consequently, they are producing products that cannot compete in the international market. it is necessary to develop and improve the indigenous trade by spreading technical education in the country.

Effect of Unemployment

Despite the dignified value, the international community attaches to manual work, blue-collar jobs are not respected duly in our society. Thus technical education could not get the higher place in a common evaluation in backward nations.

In spite of all these ground realities, the acuteness of bread problem at the present day has changed the minds and now people are struggling to survive and help their families financially. Unemployment forced the public to get technical education to mitigate their suffering. It is the need of the time that the people should take a keen interest in technical education to make our country strong and prosperous.
