Practical Knowledge is Technical Education
Education mainly in practical subjects is called technical education. This kind of education gives us proficiency in practical skills. Technical education trains the people in different practical and useful skills such as carpentry, weaving, pottery, agriculture, industry, and similar other things.
Purpose of Education
The purpose of education is to train us for better living. In the earlier days, education was meant for the intellectual development of man and in some cases for spiritual cultivation. It made us fit for social life. With the passage of time, the world made tremendous progress in the field of science and technology. With this, the ways of living also changed. In this modern age, technical education has assumed great importance. Nowadays, education has become more job-orientated.
Educated manpower
To handle the machines properly, it is essential to get the manpower educated technically. Technical education trains the people as specialists. There are a large number of jobs which cannot be performed properly without technical knowledge.
In a developing country like Pakistan, the industrial revolution is possible only when the local people are enabled to get technical education. This is the age of industry. Industrial technology can be acquired from advanced countries. But equally important is to acquire technical knowledge from the West so that we may be able to produce everything in our country.
