Exhibition is a collection of things, for example works of art that are shown to the public. There are many types of exhibitions. A large number of people take keen interest in exhibitions. Lahore is a city very rich in showing the taste of culture. People visit this city for the exhibitions held there regularly.

In Lahore, horse and cattle show is held every year. In fact, it is also an exhibition where stalls of different things are arranged. People from all over the country come to enjoy this occasion. I am interested in such gatherings because of their educational value. New products and novel things come to our knowledge.

This year, there were a large number of stalls in the compound of Fortress Stadium. I entered from the east and observed all the places one by one. There was a beautiful display of embroidery by the people from Baluchistan. From Sindh, different designs of home-printed garments presented a charming scene. Handicrafts from all over the country amazed the visitors.

A great number of bookstalls displayed a large number of new titles from the foreign as well as local publishers. I always remained interested in books of English language and literature. There. 1 luckily found a valuable stock of classic English literature.

Bird-lovers and pigeon fanciers brought their birds to the exhibition. It was another pleasure-giving offer to the nature worshippers. I, first time in my life, saw such a big show of birds. Birds of different colors and species bewitched children and the old.

In the midst of this exhibition, flowers of different colors were manifesting a great taste of nature-lovers. There was a great activity of business. The visitors were purchasing the birds, flowers, books, dresses and other household things according to their taste and need.

Horses and cattle were especially attracting the public. All these things were showing the great love and care of their owners.

I bought some books, a dress for my younger sister and a pair old pigeons for my younger brother. I got a lot of flowers for my home as well. My father is very much fond of plants. I also purchased some kitchen gadgets for my mother. All this shopping was, in fact, a gift of beauty for my family.

Exhibitions are a great source of awareness and enjoyment. We must visit the exhibitions. The government should encourage and patronize the exhibitions throughout the year for the awareness of public. The educational institutions should organize tours of such exhibitions for their educational value.
